Quirkiest Paint Job

best of 2013 custom paint quirkiestWe let riders break free of the mold and design a bike their way. This Oregon-based cyclist wanted his bike to be truly his. I mean, it has a moustache and squirrel on it!

Best Action Shot

best custom paint action shot
USMC Corporal Michael Politowicz competed in the Marine Corp Trials with hopes of qualifying for the Warrior Games this past year. During the event, a fellow Marine passed out and went down. Mike stopped to assist him — losing any chance of making the W. Games. (You can read Mike’s report here: http://bit.ly/1cS56RY.) However, once it was learned why he placed where he did, he qualified for the Warrior Game’s USMC team. It worked out well because he helped the team bring home the gold medal in cycling.

These photos show what hard work, determination, and sacrifice for others can lead to. We have a signed copy in our shop. The final photo shows the progress Mike has made over the past year, fitness & weight-wise.

Mike is a man of integrity and it’s a honor to know him. I’ll probably get some flack for this, but he and his wife are expecting a boy!!!

Best of 2013: Hardest Paint Job

best of hardest paint job
Every paint job requires numerous hours to paint. Some require more than others. This bike call for tons of island life themed creatures sporadically placed on the frame. Each one had to be individually weeded. Then, due to all the colors, each one was individually painted. All the while, we had to protect the 3k weave from paint.

This Ridley was simply gorgeous. It went the most viral on a social media outlets and rightly so. The pink has a pearl finish which is supported by red, black, and white. In a year that’s been most matte black, this bucked that trend.

Kane Bike Paint Job of the Year

|Best of 2013: Kane Bike Paint Job|

This bike rocks. It has attitude, exposed 3k weave carbon accents, and everything flows. The colors in the frame, wheel’s rims, and even the small accents on the base bar match. We spec our bikes to meet rider’s needs, but we also try to add some aesthetic touches wherever possible.
